This week, I talk with Dr. Brooke Gazdag about leadership. Brooke is an Organizational Psychologist and since March 2020 an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam. Brooke got her PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University at Buffalo and has since worked as Post Doc at the Technical University of Munich and then as an Assistant Professor at the University of Munich in Germany. Her research areas include leadership, negotiations and diversity.

This week, I talk with Helana Darwin, an advanced doctoral student (ABD, on the market) in the Sociology Department at Stony Brook University. Her research broadly focuses on social inequality and gender inequality. She has studied issues pertaining to gender inequality within Body Positivity, craft beer culture, Jewish culture, and the transgender community.

This week, I talk with Dr. Eryn Nicole O'Neal (she/her/hers), assistant professor from the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Sam Houston State University about sexual assault case processing.
Her research has appeared in a variety of well-respected mainstream and specialty journals including Justice Quarterly, Violence Against Women, and Journal of Interpersonal Violence. Eryn was recently elected as an executive counselor for the American Society of Criminology Division on Women and Crime. Eryn has also published creative works in various literary magazines; her recent work appears in High Shelf, Glass Mountain Magazine, and DUM DUM. She was the 2019 recipient of the Lillie Robertson Prize for her work of creative nonfiction "Rape Cris-ish," a satirical piece that highlights problematic societal and institutional responses to sexual violence.

This week I talk with Dr. Tara Sutton, Assistant Professor from Mississippi State University. Tara has recently joined the faculty in Fall 2018 after receiving her Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Sutton’s research is focused on the social and family contexts of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other criminal, violent, and deviant behavior among adolescents and young adults. She is particularly interested in violence against women and children, the intergenerational transmission of violence, and women’s crime.

This week, I talk to Dr. Cait Cavanagh, Assistant Professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University, where she is also affiliated with the Department of Psychology. Dr. Cavanagh is a juvenile justice researcher from a developmental psychology perspective. She received her PhD from the University of California, Irvine, in 2016.

This week I talk to Lorna Ferguson, Ph.D. student in sociology at the University of Western Ontario, and Director of Operations for the Canadian Society of Evidence-Based Policing (CAN-SEBP). Lorna's current research focused on evidence-based policy, policing, and missing persons. Specifically, she examines police responses to missing person cases by conducting interviews with police personnel from across Canada - missing persons coordinators, Search and Rescue members, police detectives, frontline officers, with the hope of filling in knowledge gaps on 'what works' and 'what doesn't work' and 'what we still don't' know' in terms of how to most effectively and efficiently respond to missing person reports.
